Abbott's - A Lasting Tradition

Thanks for the Memories!

Dear Abbott's,
I grew up on Beach Avenue in Charlotte, NY,  just down the street from Abbott's. Each summer our daily treat was to go to Abbott's with all the girls (5 girls in family) and have a chocolate cone!
My mother and I especially loved your frozen custard ~ no one makes it like you do! We said it tasted like chocolate velvet. (My mother passed away last July, 98 years old). She said she would never forgot our times at Abbott's together. Thanks for the memories!

"Abbott's custard is loved by the people of Rochester NY, they are located near the boardwalk and everyone stops there, gets an ice cream and strolls down by the pier. The ice cream is fantastic and it's a very family friendly place with happy people at the windows. You mention Abbott's and people just rave about how wonderful it is...every person I ever met from Rochester always asks me -- have you been to Abbott's??  It just has that kind of reputation. "

Much to my surprise and delight, I read in your paper that an Abbots Frozen Custard franchise is opening in Vero Beach. The original store was in Rochester, N.Y., and people used to stand in a line, around the block, just to buy frozen custard. Since the early years, Abbott’s has sold franchises in the Rochester area but I couldn't believe that one is opening right here in Vero.
